Santa Fe Summer Residency 2011!

July 28 through August 7, the MFA students and faculty will gather at St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to take part in the Summer 2011 Residency. We’ll be studying the poetry of T. S. Eliot and the prose of Evelyn Waugh for our Art & Faith class, taking part in craft seminars and workshops, and will be able to spend the evenings participating in events hosted by the Glen Workshop.

This year those Glen events will include readings from Lauren Winner, Melissa Pritchard, Betsy Sholl, and Robert Cording; presentations by Barry Moser, Jeffrey Overstreet, Kim Alexander, Ginger Geyer, and Bradford Winters; and a concert by Over the Rhine.

St. John’s College is located on 250 acres in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains overlooking Santa Fe. Early August is the rainy season, and while there is still plenty of sun, sometimes there are afternoon thundershowers. It’s a beautiful time to be in the high desert.

It’s the perfect place for those who love writing to come together to reflect and learn.
