We’re Off to Whidbey Island for Our 2011 March Residency!

The SPU MFA Winter residency begins today and lasts through March 28th. Students and faculty are making the journey from their homes across the country to Camp Casey on beautiful Whidbey Island (off the coast of Washington state) for ten days of workshops, craft lectures, readings, and more.

How To Write A Narrative English Paper On the first night of the residency, students settle into their rooms and then gather for dinner. After dinner they receive a welcome and opening remarks from program director Gregory Wolfe, followed by a dessert reception.

Visiting writers at this year’s March residency include poet Airlines Business Plan Mark Jarman, essayist Scott Russell Sanders, and fiction writer Melanie Rae Thon. The visitors give readings, deliver craft lectures, and join the students for meals and other activities.
