Mac User Guide

The Lower Level of the library is equipped with two Apple iMac computers for guest and SPU users. An overview of the important items to note when using an iMac is listed below.

Log On: Log on with normal SPU credentials (user name and password).

Guest Access:  The guest accounts allow for internet and basic application access only (e.g., no Final Cut Pro or Office). The username is [guestaccess] and the password is blank.

Log Off: When finished using the computer, click on the “Apple logo” and select “Log Out lastname, firstname…” to completely close the session. The computer will log off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Files:  Files are not backed-up and may be removed from the computer at the end of each quarter. Please save  files on a USB flash drive. Ask the Lower Level student worker for assistance.

Printing:  The Mac computer does not print. Save documents in a Windows-friendly format and print it from a Windows computer. Ask the Lower Level student worker for assistance.
